Every Call Counts.

Connecting 911 callers to a medical home using locally accredited, physician-directed protocols through a network of regional secondary Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).

Our Mission

The National Association of 911 Centers for Medical Triage (NACMT) is dedicated to advancing the growing opportunity within emergency response systems to connect 911 callers to the right care, at the right time, and in the right setting.

As communities seek innovative approaches to healthcare access and emergency resource management, NACMT provides guidance, standardization, and education around implementing accredited medical triage programs within Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP).

Our work supports public agencies, healthcare organizations, and emergency communication centers seeking sustainable, patient-centered alternatives to traditional emergency response pathways.

Pillars of Care

We support the evolution of emergency response systems through accredited nurse triage programs that improve patient outcomes, strengthen public safety systems, and connect communities to sustainable healthcare solutions. Through a practical and systems-based lens, we emphasize the foundational pillars of nurse triage — patient safety, public accountability, and local integration, while exploring alignment with public safety, healthcare systems, and regional stakeholders.

By integrating physician-directed medical triage into regional emergency response networks, NACMT helps jurisdictions reduce strain on emergency systems while ensuring callers receive appropriate, timely, and safe care.
